MEL SIGNORE (SHE/THEY)

Psychotherapist in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY

Melissa Signore

Mel is an integrative therapist who works through a queer/trans affirmative and anti-oppressive lens to honor our intersectional identities and the impact that society has on our experiences and mental health. She incorporates techniques from approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Theory. They strive to create a safe environment for clients to embrace their true selves in each session. Mel believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is unique and transformative. When built on trust and non-judgement, it opens up a space where you can practice connecting with your emotions, expressing yourself, and employing unconditional self-compassion.

Mel graduated from NYU with a Master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness and an Advanced Certificate in LGBT Health, Education, and Social Services. They have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use.
