FAQS about our services:
How do I make an appointment?

Call 347-255-7637 or email info@greenpointpsychotherapy.com and if you know which therapist you would like to work with, please include that along with your availability and insurance information.

How long are therapy sessions, and how often are they?

Sessions are typically held weekly and are 45-120 minutes long, at a time mutually agreed upon. We are able to schedule for multiple weekly sessions, or back to back sessions if you would like more time in treatment each week.

Do you offer phone / video sessions?

Our practice has transitioned to teletherapy/remote sessions for the time being to do our part in helping diminish the possibility of spreading Covid-19. We are set up to provide video or audio only sessions.

What is the cancellation policy?

Once an appointment is scheduled, you will be expected to pay the cancellation fee agreed upon in the client contract unless you provide 7 days advance notice of cancellation. If it is possible and an emergency has arisen, we will try to find another time to reschedule the appointment. You will remain responsible for the missed session fee if scheduling changes are not possible.

Can the information I discuss be shared?  Is anything I say confidential?

Our practice employs only licensed psychotherapists. This means that you have the freedom to discuss anything, secure in the knowledge that your privacy will be protected. All information about what you share is confidential, except in situations where there is a threat or danger to life, including neglect, or abuse, and in other limited circumstances as defined by law. Greenpoint Psychotherapy’s privacy policy prohibits the release of any information concerning a client to anyone without the client’s written authorization.

FAQS about billing:
When do I need to pay for my session by?

You will be expected to pay for each session at the time it is held, unless we agree otherwise.

What are acceptable forms of payment?

We are able to charge all major credits cards, along with HSA and HRA cards through our HIPPA compliant date management system. You are required to add at least one card to your Client Portal once an appointment is confirmed. We are not able to take cash payments at this time. We typically do not take Venmo or Paypal payments.

Do you accept insurance?

For in-network:

All of our therapists are in-network with Cigna. We are currently in the process to become credentialed with several other insurance panels. Feel free to ask us if we will be taking your insurance soon.

For out of network:

We do our best to accommodate insured clients for out of network reimbursement. Please contact us for help with deciphering your benefits if that would be helpful. Our NPI number is 1386297224 and our EIN number is 833952127. When contacting your insurance, the category is Behavioral Health for out-patient office benefits, and you would provide the license for Augusta Gordon of LCSW, and for the therapist that you’re choosing to see. The office visits we bill for are Intake Assessment 90791, Individual Psychotherapy 90834 and 90837.
