Maxine earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from The Warner School of Education at University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. Maxine has experience working with adults treating a variety of presenting challenges including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflicts, and general life stressors. She also has experience in crisis intervention as well as co-existing mental health and substance use challenges.
Maxine’s clinical approach to therapy involves a variety of techniques and modalities including, psychodynamic approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness practice. Maxine facilitates a comfortable, safe space for her clients by facilitating a trusting and mutually respectful environment. She knows that creating a safe space for her clients as they embark on a journey towards change and healing is imperative. Maxine recognizes the importance and difficulty of taking the first step to access therapy. She works collaboratively to guide clients toward reaching their goals.
